Chris McLennan

Specialist travel photographer Chris McLennan was born and raised in the South Island of New Zealand, but now spends his time travelling the globe on photographic assignments around the world for his many travel and tourism clients. His commercial photographic shoots have seen him work in over 40 different countries to date.

Frequently invited to present and speak to industry peers and photography enthusiasts, Chris is highly regarded in the photographic arena – both locally and abroad. Chris boasts endorsement relationships on an international level with many of the top brands within the industry including LowePro, Lexar, Hahnel and HP.

These industry commendations come not only as a result of Chris’s excellent imagery, but are also a reflection of his skills as a mentor and role model within the field of photography. Chris now hosts travel photography workshops around the world with trips scheduled to Alaska, Fiji, Africa, Norway and New Zealand.

Chris’s work is published globally and his photographic projects can vary widely; from shooting tribal culture in the mountainous jungle regions of Papua New Guinea to documenting some of the world’s finest 5 star resorts, from an action shoot of top sporting brands through to a winter expedition spent travelling nearly 1200kms on snowmobile at temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees to follow the competitors of the famous Iditarod dog sled race across Alaska.

And it is his willingness to share those experiences with others – his images, as well as how he captures them – that has seen him build up a steadily increasing fan base of thousands on his social media sites, with over one million page visits per month. Chris balances his busy career as a travelling photographer with family life back home in New Zealand.
